Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust is the admissions authority and is responsible for determining the admission policy. The local authority coordinates the admissions process on behalf of the Trust. The administration and operation of the admission policy is delegated by the Trust to the Local Governing Committee.

Application Process - Normal Admission Round

To apply for a place at this school in the normal admission round (not in-year applications), a Common Application Form (CAF) must be completed. This is available from the local authority in which the child lives. Parents need to be aware that having a Nursery place does not guarantee a place in the main school. Applications for the Reception class starting in September, open the November before. Application letters are distributed to nursery pupils and online applications are available at Hartlepool Borough Council School Admissions

Application Process - In Year School Admissions (Transfers)

Hartlepool Council Admissions Team co-ordinate in year admissions for all primary and secondary schools. An in year admission is when a parent wishes to apply for a place at a school that is not during normal rounds of entry (e.g. Reception Class – starting primary school or Year 7 – moving from primary to secondary school). Should you wish to apply to transfer to our school, please complete and return a form which can be found by clicking In Year School Admissions

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria in the admission arrangements will be applied. Please see the school admission policy on this page for information on admission arrangements. Parents are advised to read the admission arrangements carefully before making their application.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list. Please see the admission arrangements for more details.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing as soon as possible. Applicants must be informed of the outcome of their application within 15 school days of receipt, but the aim is to notify applicants of the outcome of their application within 10 school days of receipt.

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if your application is unsuccessful.

You may also wish to discuss in-year applications with the local authority by contacting the local authority admission team at School Admissions, Hartlepool Borough Council, Centre for Excellence in Teaching & Learning, Brierton Lane, Hartlepool, TS25 4BY, by telephone 01429 284368 or by email admissionsteam@hartlepool.gov.uk

For reference, with any application you will need our DFE number 805/3321.
