Everyone at Sacred Heart is incredibly proud of Brian and Laura, who have been named finalists in the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust Virtues Awards 2026. Brian and Laura will be attending the awards ceremony, having been recognised for their dedication, commitment and the positive contribution they make to our school community. Their hard work, support and willingness to go above and beyond reflect the values we strive to uphold at Sacred Heart every day.
Hate Awareness Week at Sacred Heart
As part of Hate Awareness Week, we were delighted to welcome PC Coggins to school to help our pupils explore the important themes of kindness, respect and inclusion. During the day, PC Coggins delivered engaging and informative assemblies to both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. Through discussions and activities, the children developed their understanding of how their words and actions can have a positive impact on others and the importance of treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Year 6 Rugby Team Represent the School with Pride
A huge well done to our Year 6 Rugby Team, who recently took part in a town rugby tournament. The boys demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm, determination and teamwork throughout the competition, giving their best in every match and representing the school brilliantly. Their positive attitude and effort were a credit to themselves and to our school community.
Welcoming Our New Sports Leaders!
We are delighted to welcome our new Year 5 Sports Leaders following the successful completion of their training. Throughout the training programme, the children demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm, commitment and leadership qualities. They are now ready to work alongside our experienced Year 6 Sports Leaders, helping to promote physical activity and encourage others to take part in sport and exercise.

Nursery Scoot and Cycle Challenge Raises Fantastic Support
Children in Nursery at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool enjoyed an exciting sponsored scoot and cycle event, showing incredible enthusiasm, determination and energy throughout the day. Despite the hot weather, the children were more than ready for the challenge as they raced around the playground on their scooters and bikes. With bells ringing, horns beeping and plenty of laughter filling the air, the event was a wonderful celebration of fun, fitness and perseverance.

Sacred Heart Crowned National Champions!
What an incredible achievement! Our Sacred Heart girls’ football team delivered an outstanding performance at Wembley yesterday, earning the incredible title of National Champions. These amazing girls have shown unwavering determination and belief throughout their journey, never giving up on their dream of reaching Wembley and becoming the best primary school team in the country—and now they have achieved exactly that. We could not be prouder of each and every one of them!
Sacred Heart Girls Head to Wembley
We are incredibly proud to announce that the Sacred Heart Girls’ U11 football team have been crowned North Champions in the NLT Road to Wembley tournament—an outstanding achievement! The team will now go on to compete in the National Final at Wembley Stadium on 10th May, marking a truly special moment for the school. Their journey to this stage has been defined by determination, resilience and teamwork, with the girls giving their all in every round of the competition.
Good Shepherd Mass: Living Out Our Faith Through Giving
Yesterday, a group of pupils from our school, alongside representatives from other Catholic schools across Hartlepool, attended the annual Good Shepherd Mass at St Joseph’s Church. The Mass, held at 1pm, was a special opportunity to come together in prayer and reflection, celebrating our shared faith and commitment to helping those in need.
