

January has been an action‑packed month for sport at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, with our pupils showcasing fantastic talent, teamwork, and determination across a range of competitions and events. Here’s a look at some of the amazing achievements from our young athletes.
Year 5/6 Athletics Team Shine at Tees Valley Finals
Our brilliant Year 5/6 Athletics Team represented Sacred Heart at the Tees Valley Finals, competing against 16 schools from across the region, including teams from Darlington to Saltburn. The children gave an outstanding performance and secured an impressive 6th place overall. Their hard work, dedication, and superb teamwork made us incredibly proud.
Basketball Success at English Martyrs
Our pupils enjoyed a fantastic basketball session at The English Martyrs Catholic School & Sixth Form College, supported by the school’s talented sports leaders. The children showed excellent ball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the session—an amazing opportunity to develop confidence and ability in the game.
Boccia Team Show Determination in South Shields
Our Sacred Heart Boccia Team travelled to South Shields to take part in the Boccia Finals. They represented the school with pride, demonstrating resilience, control, and brilliant sportsmanship. We are so proud of their outstanding effort and behaviour throughout the competition.
Girls Football Team Celebrate a Fantastic Win
A huge congratulations to our Girls Football Team, who competed at Hartlepool United in the Finals and secured an incredible 2–1 victory! Their teamwork, skill and determination shone throughout the match. Well done, girls — you were absolutely outstanding!
