This week, the Nursery children at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School were thrilled to welcome our wonderful lollipop man, Brian, for a special road safety session. The children were so excited to see him, and his warm, friendly approach made the visit even more memorable.

Brian spoke to the children about how to stay safe near roads, reminding them of the key steps: stop, look and listen. He explained why it’s important to stay close to an adult, wait for the signal to cross, and be aware of cars, bikes and other traffic. These early years lessons are an essential part of developing safe habits, and our Nursery children listened beautifully.

To put their learning into practice, Brian took the children outside for some practical road‑crossing activities. Using their mini lollipops, the children enjoyed pretending to stop the traffic and help their friends cross safely — just like Brian does every day. This hands‑on experience helped them remember his important messages about road safety.

We are so grateful to Brian for visiting and supporting our children’s learning. He is a much‑loved member of our Sacred Heart school community, and the children always look forward to seeing him.
